When we launched WildRock® Trailblazers, we knew the key to our success would be our team’s experience, skills and passion. Co-facilitator and executive business coach, Brittany Szigeti, offers a potent combination of all these when working with groups during our retreats.
Brittany is one of our retreat co-facilitators who brings a deep bench of experience and understanding to help retreat attendees explore their strengths, weaknesses, and leadership styles so they can map out plans to take their careers to the next level.
Over her career, Brittany has applied her passion and talent to many business areas including recruiting, hiring, human resources, sales and customer success. She says, “I’ve gravitated toward industries and companies that are disrupting something or forging a new path. That’s why I was drawn to Trailblazers – we’re preparing and supporting women to disrupt the traditional expectations of their role at work and at home.
Forging New Paths for Herself and Others
Brittany’s own career journey has taken her on an exciting ride up the corporate ladder. Fresh out of college she landed at an advertising agency where she helped their client, Nike, to implement and sell online custom shoe designs for the first time. From there she filled executive roles at entertainment industry software companies, where she helped drive the consumer shift from cable to streaming TV. Now she’s co-owner of the international software business, FieldFlō, where she serves as VP of Growth helping construction companies modernize their businesses. In addition to co-facilitating Trailblazer retreats, she is also the Founder and Head Coach at DevelUP Consulting Group.
“I’ve gravitated toward industries and companies that are disrupting something or forging a new path. That’s why I was drawn to Trailblazers – we’re preparing and supporting women to disrupt the traditional expectations of their role at work and at home.”
Brittany credits much of her success to a combination of the mentoring she received and her own grit, but in her leadership roles, she sometimes experienced imposter syndrome or couldn’t find the courage to ask for help. Navigating challenging situations alone and working extra hours to meet her responsibilities left her burnt out and overwhelmed. She says “I know I missed some key opportunities because I didn’t believe I was ready.”
The high-achieving women in leadership who attend our executive retreats say the same thing and Brittany is on a mission to help change this.
When the company she was working for generously set her up with a professional business coach, Brittany’s next-level transformation began. With a deeper sense of self-awareness and confidence, she discovered that her favorite part of leadership was empowering others.
When asked what has scared her the most about managing big changes in her life, Brittany said, “Early in my career, I feared failure. My greatest fear now is disconnecting from my values or making decisions that negatively affect my family.”
Knowing that professional women everywhere face these same fears, she’s grateful to work with them through Trailblazers and help them learn how to look at their challenges as opportunities—each one filled with possibility.
A Colorado native, Brittany unsurprisingly loves the outdoors, although she says, “You’ll rarely catch me camping. But hiking, skiing, tennis and all things active keep me grounded, especially when I’m with my husband and our two kids.” She comes from a big, boisterous Italian-Czech family who love spending as much time as possible laughing together over shared meals. She relates so naturally with people, so you’d never guess she considers herself an introvert.
Joining Paths
Brittany was excited to step into her role as a co-facilitator at Trailblazers because our mission aligns with hers, and because she’s excited to be part of building a space where female leaders can find the tangible, lasting support they need. She shares, “I’ve gone to conferences, retreats, workshops and engaged in memberships and more. None of them provided me the intimate support, tools or network that benefitted me long-term like I received at the Trailblazers retreat. It has helped me in more ways than anything else I’ve been part of and I’ve seen it do the same for the other attendees.”
At her first Trailblazers retreat, Brittany created a purpose statement: to shine a light on others’ strengths, and we have witnessed her doing just that. Everywhere she’s worked, her passion has always been to help individuals and teams recognize the qualities that make them special and to elevate and highlight those qualities for professional and personal growth and success. As part of Trailblazers, she shines that light on high-performing women as they navigate their growth edge, discover the truth that work-life balance is a myth, and prepare to take bold, innovative leaps in their professional and personal lives.
Working with Brittany, you can’t miss her shining passion and drive to help you achieve your biggest dreams. It’s crystal clear she thrives on witnessing the moments when confidence and assertiveness click into place as Trailblazers take ownership of their career decisions. If she could wave a magic coaching wand and make one limiting belief disappear from women’s consciousness, it would be the idea that they aren’t skilled or prepared enough to take the leap in front of them. She often shares that her mom always told her, “Everything is temporary. If something isn’t working, you have the power to change it and make it better.”
Brittany has made bold changes in her life and is carrying that message forward by empowering other women to do the same.
